IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar Leads Crime Strategy Meeting for Gujranwala and Rawalpindi Regions


Lahore, IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar recently chaired a crucial video-linked crime strategy meeting focusing on the Gujranwala and Rawalpindi regions, where he emphasized stringent measures for improving law enforcement and community safety. The meeting highlighted various directives aimed at enhancing the investigative processes and ensuring justice for victims, with a particular focus on crimes against women and children.



According to Punjab Police, IG Punjab outlined a series of instructions to bolster service delivery and responsiveness under the 1787 Complaint Management System, stressing on immediate registration of property-related crimes and rigorous actions against drug offenses. He also underscored the ongoing efforts in officer promotions based on merit and seniority, alongside community policing initiatives aimed at social security for vulnerable groups including women, children, and transgenders.



The performance of the police in handling cases of robbery and murder in the Gujranwala region was notably commended by Dr. Anwar. Senior officials including Additional IGs and DIGs also participated in this comprehensive review meeting, which included a discussion on the completion rates of challans and pending investigations.
