IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar Inspects Development Projects in Rawalpindi

Lahore, Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar recently visited Rawalpindi to inspect several infrastructure development projects, including the under-construction modern Safe City Project.

According to Punjab Police, RPO Rawalpindi Syed Khurram Ali and CPO Rawalpindi Khalid Hamdani briefed Dr. Anwar on the progress of the Safe Cities Project. He inspected various parts of the project, urging completion within the set timeline. Dr. Anwar praised the quality of the construction work and highlighted the enhanced safety and peace in cities like Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, and Gujranwala upon the project’s completion. He stressed the role of modern technology in improving crime control, traffic management, and monitoring sensitive installations.

Following the Safe City Project visit, Dr. Anwar inspected Special Initiative Police Stations in Civil Lines and Sadar Baroni, Rawalpindi. He commended the modern upgrades achieved in a short time and received briefings on ongoing projects. Dr. Anwar emphasized the timely completion of these stations, noting their role in providing a better environment and easier service delivery to citizens.

Additionally, Dr. Anwar inaugurated the Police Animal Rescue Center in Gawalmandi, Rawalpindi. Senior officers, artists, and social personalities attended the ceremony. ASP Kainat Azhar briefed about the center’s facilities, marking it as the third after Lahore and Gujranwala. The center aims to provide aid and care to animals affected by accidents and violence. Dr. Anwar highlighted Punjab Police’s commitment to creating a safe society for both humans and animals and signed MOUs with social welfare organizations to enhance the center’s facilities.
