Dera Ghazi Khan, November 30: Inspector General Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, affirmed the force’s commitment to the welfare of the families of police martyrs during his visit to Dera Ghazi Khan. He underscored the nation’s remembrance and reverence for its martyrs and ghazis, who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.
According to Punjab Police, Dr. Anwar’s visit to Dera Ghazi Khan included a special ceremony at Gymkhana Club, where he distributed ownership rights letters of residential plots to the families of 36 police martyrs who sacrificed their lives before 2017. The beneficiaries included families from Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, and Muzaffargarh districts.
In his address, Dr. Anwar highlighted the department’s efforts in providing jobs to 2100 children of martyrs and officials who died in service. He also mentioned the significant departmental promotions granted in the last few months, exceeding the total promotions of the last twenty years, with further promotions planned for the coming months.
During the ceremony, attended by Additional Chief Secretary Home Shakeel Ahmed, RPO Dera Ghazi Khan Captain (Retd) Sajjad Hasan Khan, and District Police Officers, Dr. Anwar listened to the problems faced by the families of martyrs and issued immediate orders for their resolution.
The event was a testament to the Punjab Police’s continued support and recognition of the sacrifices made by their personnel and their families. Dr. Anwar’s visit and the ceremony’s arrangements were part of ongoing efforts to honor and support those who have lost their lives in the line of duty.
