IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar Engages Directly with Police Staff and Families to Address Concerns


Lahore: In a significant move to address the welfare of police employees and their families, Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, held a meeting at the Central Police Office today where he personally attended to the grievances and requests of the police staff. Emphasizing the police force as a family unit, Dr. Anwar reiterated his commitment to swiftly resolving any issues impacting their professional and personal lives.



According to Punjab Police announcement issued on 11 October 2024, Dr. Anwar instructed all supervisory officers to ensure that problems faced by the subordinate staff are resolved promptly at the grassroots level. This directive comes as part of his broader effort to enable the police force to focus entirely on their duties without undue stress from unresolved personal or administrative issues.



During the meeting, Dr. Anwar directly interacted with various police employees and their family members, issuing immediate orders to address their concerns. Notably, he moved forward Constable Khalid Naveed’s reinstatement request to the RPO Multan for necessary action. Similarly, the transfer request of a martyred constable’s daughter was swiftly handled, with orders for immediate relief issued to the AIG Admin.



Other notable directives included the referral of a widow’s request for a plot to the RPO Sargodha and instructions to the DPO Vehari to expedite action on a retired sub-inspector’s concern. Additionally, family-based recruitment requests and assistance for overseas education were also addressed, showcasing a comprehensive approach to personnel management and welfare within the Punjab Police.
