IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar Conducts Unexpected Visit to Police Tahaffuz Markaz

Lahore, In an unannounced visit, Inspector General Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, inspected the Police Tahaffuz Markaz Lari Ada. During his visit, Dr. Anwar evaluated the staff’s performance and the progress of their ongoing work, focusing on the support provided to vulnerable groups in society.

According to Punjab Police, IG Punjab directed the Tahaffuz Markaz staff to offer comprehensive support to all citizens, particularly transgenders, who face social challenges. He emphasized that the Protection Centre should ensure full support and protection for transgenders, women, children, and persons with disabilities. Dr. Anwar stressed the importance of effective coordination with relevant institutions for the relief and rehabilitation of individuals affected by social difficulties.

Highlighting the significance of the Tahaffuz Markaz, Dr. Anwar described it as a flagship project of the Punjab Police, primarily aimed at assisting and rehabilitating citizens facing various social issues. He instructed victim support officers to provide immediate relief to women, children, and transgenders in distress.

The visit was attended by high-ranking officials, including the Additional IG Welfare and Finance, Additional IG Punjab, MD Safe City Authority, AIG Admin, SSP Operations Lahore, and other officers, who accompanied IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar during his inspection.
