Lahore, Inspector General of Punjab Police, Dr. Usman Anwar, has reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring the welfare of the families of police martyrs. In a recent gesture, he personally handed over house keys to the families of two brave policemen who lost their lives in the line of duty.
According to Punjab Police, IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar met with the families of ASI Asim Ali and Constable Muhammad Irfan at his office. The family of ASI Asim Ali, who was martyred while confronting dacoits in Manga Mandi, Lahore, received a house in Tehsil Shahkot district Nankana. Similarly, the family of Constable Muhammad Irfan, martyred in a cross-firing incident, was provided with a house in Kot Radha Kishan, District Kasur. Both families, including the widows and young children of the martyred officers, were present at the ceremony.
Dr. Usman Anwar’s efforts led to the Punjab government releasing funds for the homes. He assured the families of his continuous support and announced that the children of the martyrs would receive free education in top educational institutions in the country. He emphasized that the police department would stand by these families in all aspects of life.
Dr. Anwar also stated that the sacrifices of the Punjab Police’s brave soldiers would never be forgotten and that all measures would be taken to ensure the welfare of the martyrs’ families. The event was attended by Additional IG Welfare Riaz Nazir Gara, DIG Welfare Ghazi Muhammad Salah ud din, AIG Admin Lahore Atif Nazir, and other officers.
This initiative is part of a broader effort by the Punjab Police to support the families of those who have sacrificed their lives in the line of duty, ensuring they are cared for and their sacrifices are honored.
