IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar Commit to Addressing Police Personnel Issues

Lahore: Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, affirmed his commitment to promptly addressing the welfare, discipline, and administrative challenges faced by police personnel during a meeting at the Central Police Office. The meeting focused on listening to and resolving the requests of police employees and their families, thereby reinforcing the familial ethos of the Punjab Police.

According to Punjab Police, Dr. Usman Anwar, during his interaction with the police staff and their families, directed all supervisory officers to maintain a close liaison with their subordinate staff to ensure the prompt resolution of their difficulties. He stressed the importance of treating the police force like a family and actively working to address each member’s challenges.

In specific cases, Dr. Anwar ordered the AIG Development to process the transfer of an official flat from Sub-Inspector Iftikhar Ahmed to his daughter, Constable Maryam Iftikhar. He also instructed the Additional IG Investigation to look into the reappointment of retired Inspector Muhammad Aslam as a trainer. Furthermore, following the request from the wife of Head Constable Muhammad Hanif Shaheed, he directed that provisions for a flat and a plot be made through the SSP Admin and AIG Development.

Additionally, Dr. Anwar tasked the DIG Establishment-I with addressing the promotion request of ASI Syed Manzoor Ali Shah from Khanewal and directed the DPO Kasur to take immediate legal action regarding the application of Traffic Assistant Shahbaz Ahmed. The job provision request from the wife of late Driver Constable Muhammad Inam Ilahi was forwarded to the DIG Welfare for appropriate action.

Dr. Usman Anwar reiterated the department’s commitment to maximizing relief for police employees on both professional and personal fronts and instructed Regional Police Officers (RPOs), City Police Officers (CPOs), and District Police Officers (DPOs) to expedite actions for resolving the issues of subordinate staff and the force in general.
