IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar Authorizes Over 2 Million Rupees for Injured Police Personnel

Lahore: In a significant move to support police personnel injured in the line of duty, the Compensation Award Committee meeting convened at the Central Police Office under the leadership of Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar. During this session, a substantial amount exceeding 2 million rupees was sanctioned for medical treatments.

According to Punjab Police, the meeting was chaired by Additional IG Welfare and Finance Riaz Nazir Gara, who, along with other committee members, rigorously examined the documentation of the cases submitted from various parts of the province. Following their review, IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar authorized the fund allocations.

The beneficiaries of these funds include Constable Muhammad Aslam of Kasur Police, who was awarded 1.5 million rupees. Constable Abdul Qadir from Lahore Police and Constable Muhammad Saleem of Kasur Police each received 200,000 rupees. Additionally, Constable Usman Tariq Cheema of Sialkot Police was granted 150,000 rupees for medical expenses. All these personnel had sustained severe injuries during different incidents while performing their duties.

Dr. Usman Anwar also emphasized the importance of continued efforts to ensure the best possible healthcare and welfare for the injured officers, instructing that no effort should be spared in facilitating their quick recovery and providing optimal medical treatment.
