IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar Announces Upgradation of Traffic Police Offices

Lahore, Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, in collaboration with Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore Amara Athar, has announced a comprehensive plan to upgrade the offices of the Lahore Traffic Police. This initiative is part of a broader effort to modernize the police force and enhance public service delivery.

According to Punjab Police, IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar released a video message detailing the upgradation plans for traffic offices. The initiative follows the model of the Police Khidmat Center in Garden Town, with similar upgrades being implemented in Liberty, Wapda Town, Gujranwala, Kasur, and other cities. The initial phase has focused on equipping the front-end of police offices with modern facilities and a corporate-style environment, aimed at improving convenience for citizens.

CTO Lahore Amara Athar informed Dr. Anwar about the specific plans for upgrading traffic police offices. Athar revealed that all 44 offices of the traffic police in Lahore are set to be upgraded by January 15. Notably, these improvements are being made without any government funding; instead, the upgrades are financed through the traffic police’s own income sources.

Following the upgradation of the Public Service Delivery Offices, the renovation of Traffic Police Offices is now underway. The objective is to provide a better working environment for the staff and improve the overall experience for the public. Athar added that upon completion of the upgrades, the offices would be presented to the public for inspection.

Dr. Anwar emphasized that the upgradation would ensure that all traffic police offices are equipped with modern facilities, mirroring the special initiative police stations. He expressed his expectation that the traffic police staff would perform their duties in an improved environment, akin to that of the staff at police khidmat centers.

This initiative reflects the Punjab Police’s commitment to modernizing its infrastructure and services, prioritizing both the welfare of its employees and the quality of service provided to the public.
