IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar Announces Construction of 40 Smart Police Stations

Lahore, In a significant move to modernize law enforcement facilities, Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has announced the construction of 40 smart police stations across various districts of the province, including Lahore, in a recent video message.

According to Punjab Police, Dr. Usman Anwar detailed in his message that these smart police stations are set to replace old buildings and facilities in several districts. This initiative was spurred by a visit from Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Syed Mohsin Naqvi to the old police stations in Lahore, leading to the decision to establish advanced smart police stations.

Locations for these new facilities include Sanda, Shafiqabad, Islampura, and Shadman in the provincial capital. The smart police stations, occupying one or two kanal spaces, will be outfitted with modern equipment and facilities. The move addresses the issue of inadequate land for constructing new stations by replacing dilapidated structures with these updated versions.

Dr. Anwar also noted that the construction of these 40 smart police stations, which have already been approved and begun construction, aligns with the Punjab Police’s transition to the Special Initiative Protocol. This protocol includes timely completion of all police station tasks, such as FIR registration, ensuring efficient and modernized operations.

The IG Punjab highlighted the commitment of the Punjab Police to public service and protection, emphasizing their readiness to face various challenges and make sacrifices in the line of duty, despite limited resources and adverse conditions.

This development marks a significant step in the modernization and improvement of police infrastructure in Punjab, aiming to enhance the efficiency, effectiveness, and public service capabilities of the police force in the region.
