IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar Allocates Over 22 Crores for Health Welfare of Special Children

Lahore: Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, has allocated 22 crores 27 lakh rupees to enhance the health welfare of special children of police employees across various districts.

According to Punjab Police, the funds are part of the “Hamaray Phool” project which has so far assisted 1,433 children in eight categories. The project includes financial aid for children affected by Thalassemia, with 152 receiving PKR 15,000 monthly, amounting to PKR 31.725 million. Additionally, 582 children with cerebral palsy are provided PKR 10,000 each month, totaling 7 crores and 14 lakhs rupees. The initiative also covers costly medical procedures such as cochlear implant surgeries for 20 children, costing PKR 32.3 million.

Other beneficiaries include 173 children with various hearing impairments and 179 children who received over PKR 5 crores for artificial limbs. The program also supports 172 children with serious illnesses and 130 with physical disabilities needing wheelchairs. Moreover, 25 children requiring major heart and kidney surgeries have been granted PKR 60 lakhs and 44 thousand rupees.

Dr. Usman Anwar emphasized the familial bond within the police force and reaffirmed the commitment to the speedy recovery and ongoing support for the children of police employees through welfare resources.
