Lahore, Inspector General Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, is actively taking measures to prioritize the health and welfare of police employees and their families. In a recent initiative, he has sanctioned a total of 13 lakh 70 thousand rupees for the medical expenses of police personnel across various districts, including Lahore.
According to Punjab Police, the financial assistance was distributed to several police employees for their urgent medical needs. Constable Kamran Mehmood of Tele and Transport received 10 lakh rupees for a kidney transplant. Retired Inspector Nazir Ahmed Saqib of Faisalabad was allocated Rs. 02 lakh for a bypass operation. Constable Muhammad Naeem Ashraf from Gujarat Police was granted Rs. 01 lakh for medical expenses. Furthermore, Constable Abdul Majeed of Tele Transport Punjab received 70 thousand rupees for his wife’s spinal cord treatment.
The funding decisions were made in a welfare Management Committee meeting, chaired by Additional IG Welfare and Finance Riaz Nazir Gara. The committee reviewed and approved the cases before sending them to IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, who then authorized the release of funds.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar emphasized that the health and welfare of the police force and their families are of utmost priority. He affirmed that further measures would be implemented to support the well-being of police personnel and their dependents.
