IG Punjab Directs Swift Action in Double Homicide Case in Sheikhupura


Sheikhupura: A tragic incident in Mohalla Sultan Pura, Sheikhupura, where two women were fatally shot following a domestic dispute, has drawn the attention of Punjab’s highest police authority. Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, has called for immediate and decisive action in response to the murders.



According to Punjab Police announcement issued on 28 September 2024, upon learning of the incident, IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar promptly demanded a full report from the Regional Police Officer (RPO) of Sheikhupura. He has also directed the District Police Officer (DPO) to ensure the quick arrest of the accused involved in the dispute, stressing the importance of bringing the suspect to justice without delay.



Dr. Anwar has further mandated that the case be handled with the utmost severity, insisting on exemplary punishment for the perpetrator to deter similar future offenses. He also highlighted the need for rapid judicial proceedings to provide the victims’ family with swift justice, reflecting the police force’s commitment to upholding law and order and protecting the citizens of Punjab.
