IG Punjab Congratulates SSP Riffat Bukhari for Global Police Excellence Award

Lahore: Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, extended his congratulations to SSP Riffat Bukhari for her recent recognition at an international level, receiving the Excellence in Performance Award from the International Association of Women Police. The ceremony took place at the Central Police Office where Dr. Anwar also honored her with a commemorative shield, celebrating her achievements on behalf of the entire police department.

According to Punjab Police, SSP Riffat Bukhari was awarded the global honor during the 61st Annual Conference of the International Association of Women Police held in Chicago, USA. This prestigious award is bestowed annually to one female police officer globally, recognizing her exceptional services in the field of law enforcement. SSP Bukhari has been recognized for her significant contributions to women’s protection, and the development of advanced road safety mechanisms, incorporating artificial intelligence and intelligent traffic management systems. During the ceremony, DIG Operations Punjab, Waqas Nazir, was also in attendance, showing support for SSP Bukhari’s commendable achievements.

IG Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, in his remarks, highlighted the importance of such international accolades, stating that officers like SSP Bukhari who receive global recognition are not only a source of pride but also serve as vital inspirations, particularly for female officers within the Pakistani police force.
