IG Punjab Commits Over One Billion Rupees to Welfare of Police Force and Families

Lahore, Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, has affirmed his commitment to the welfare of the police force and their families, with substantial funds allocated to various welfare categories in the past year.

According to Punjab Police, during the first four months of this year alone, the department has disbursed over one billion rupees to police employees for welfare purposes. This includes 39.52 million rupees for educational scholarships, over 1.03 billion rupees for medical financial assistance, and 234 million rupees for wedding gifts to daughters of police martyrs and employees. Additionally, farewell grants, maintenance allowances, construction aid for martyr families’ homes, legal assistance, funeral expenses, and urgent financial assistance have been provided, totaling hundreds of millions more.

Dr. Usman Anwar highlighted that these efforts are part of a broader initiative to support the police force and their families comprehensively, using welfare resources effectively and planning further collaborations with other institutions to enhance the support provided.
