Lahore, In a significant move for the welfare of the police force, Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has approved funds amounting to 18 lakh rupees for the treatment of seven injured officials from various districts, including Lahore. The decision was made during a meeting of the Compensation Award Committee chaired by Additional IG Welfare Muhammad Riaz Nazir Gara.
According to Punjab Police, the funds will be allocated to the injured officials, including Constable Wajid Ali of Gujranwala Police and Constable Shahid Imtiaz of Lahore Police, among others, each receiving varying amounts for their treatment. IG Punjab emphasized the importance of providing the best possible medical care to these officers, acknowledging their service as valuable assets to the department and prioritizing their welfare and rehabilitation.
