IG Punjab Allocates Rs. 9.5 Million for Homes of Police Martyrs

Lahore: In a significant move to support the families of police martyrs, IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has disbursed Rs. 9.5 million to assist in constructing homes for 15 martyr families. This initiative is part of a broader effort by Punjab Police to provide housing to all police martyrs’ families before 2017.

According to Punjab Police, the funds were distributed at a ceremony at the Central Police Office, where IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar handed over the final installment of Rs. 500,000 to each of the families of seven martyrs. Prior to this, these families had already received Rs. 2 million each in installments. Additionally, four families received double installments of Rs. 1 million each for ongoing construction, while another four families were given Rs. 500,000 each.

IG Punjab emphasized that the Punjab Police had so far allocated Rs. 38 million from its welfare fund to 23 families for this purpose. He expressed confidence that the remaining construction activities would be completed efficiently with the support of the relevant Regional Police Officers (RPOs) and District Police Officers (DPOs). He highlighted the rapid progress of the mission to house all families of police martyrs who passed before 2017.

Furthermore, IG Punjab directed all DPOs to ensure continuous engagement with the families of martyrs, ensuring that district police use all available resources to support them. The families who received the financial assistance expressed their gratitude towards IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar for the support.

The event was attended by several high-ranking officials, including Additional IG Welfare and Finance Riaz Nazir Gara, DIG Welfare Ghazi Salahuddin, RPO Faisalabad Dr. Abid Khan, CPO Faisalabad Kamran Adil, and AIG Welfare Ammara Shirazi, among others.
