IG Punjab Allocates Rs. 2.2 Million for Medical Treatment of Police Personnel

Lahore: In a continued effort to support the health and welfare of its personnel, the Punjab Police, under the direction of Inspector General Dr. Usman Anwar, has allocated an additional Rs. 2.2 million for the medical treatment of four officers facing serious health challenges. The funding is aimed at providing crucial support for treatments ranging from cancer to chronic back problems among officers from Lahore and other districts.

According to Punjab Police announcement issued on 15 September 2024, the disbursement includes Rs. 1 million for Senior Traffic Warden Mustaqeem Khan of Rawalpindi for liver cancer treatment, Rs. 150,000 to Sub-Inspector Qasim Abbas of Lahore Police for stroke recovery, Rs. 100,000 to PHP ASI Muhammad Nawaz for backbone issues, and another Rs. 1 million to Ghazi Constable Ali Jan of Kasur Police for various medical expenses. These allocations were carefully scrutinized and approved by the welfare committee, overseen by the Additional IG Welfare and Finance.

IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar reaffirmed his commitment to the health welfare of the police force, emphasizing that no personnel battling serious illnesses would be neglected. He also stated that the support from the Police Welfare Fund for medical treatments would continue to increase to meet the needs of the force’s members and their families.
