Lahore: The Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, has allocated PKR 2.4 million to support the medical treatment of police personnel injured in the line of duty. This funding is part of ongoing efforts to prioritize the welfare and recovery of police officers who face risks in their professional roles.

According to Punjab Police, the funds were distributed among several injured officers. Constable Muhammad Salman Asghar of Sialkot received PKR 1 million for his medical treatment. In Lahore, Head Constable Ashfaq Ahmad was awarded PKR 700,000 to cover his medical expenses. Furthermore, PKR 300,000 was granted each to Constable Muhammad Zafarullah and Constable Muhammad Asif from Rawalpindi for their treatments. Additionally, ASI Qamar Abbas was allocated PKR 100,000 for his medical needs. These officers sustained injuries while engaging with criminal elements during their duties.

The decision to release these funds was made during a meeting chaired by the Additional IG Welfare and Finance. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar stressed the importance of excellent treatment and the swift recovery of the injured officers, instructing supervisory officers to ensure the best possible health care and welfare support is provided to these personnel.
