IG Punjab Allocates Over 2 Million Rupees for Health Welfare of Police Employees

Lahore: Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar is actively enhancing the health welfare of police employees and their families through significant financial support. IG Punjab has allocated over 2 million rupees to aid medical treatments for several police staff across different districts.

According to Punjab Police, the funds have been distributed among various employees for specific medical treatments. Constable Shifa Ullah Khan from DG Khan police has been granted 500,000 rupees for knee and leg surgery, while Office Superintendent Malik Muhammad Shafiq Awan has received the same amount for brain hemorrhage treatment.

Security Constable Muhammad Awais Butt from the Special Protection Unit and Sub-Inspector Waheed Iqbal from the Special Branch were allocated 200,000 rupees each for lung treatment and brain injury treatment, respectively. Additionally, Constables Irfan Ali and Muhammad Farooq, from Lahore and Gujrat respectively, as well as Muhammad Naseer Khawar and Javed Iqbal from Toba Tek Singh, were each provided 100,000 rupees for various medical needs. Head Constable Muhammad Hussain and Naib Qasid Ali Haider Hashmi also received 100,000 rupees each for their families’ medical treatment.

Additional IG Welfare and Finance Riaz Nazir Gara, who chairs the welfare management committee, reviewed numerous applications from across the province. On the committee’s recommendation, Dr. Usman Anwar authorized the release of the funds, affirming that the health welfare of the police force and their families remains a top priority. He assured that further financial support would be sourced from the Police Welfare Fund and other available resources to ensure no employee or their family member suffering from serious illnesses goes without necessary treatment.
