Lahore: In a significant move aimed at improving the health and welfare of police employees and their families, Dr. Usman Anwar, the Inspector General of Police Punjab, has allocated over 1.5 million rupees for medical treatments across various districts. This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to enhance the well-being of personnel within the force.
According to Punjab Police, the funds have been distributed among several officers and personnel for treatments of various ailments. Notably, Lahore Police Inspector Majid Iqbal Bhatti received 250,000 rupees for an eye operation, and retired DIG Dr. Masood Saleem was granted the same amount for his wife’s medical expenses. Furthermore, Lahore Police Traffic Warden Sabir Hussain and the wife of martyred Constable Zia Ullah each received 150,000 rupees for medical treatment.
Additionally, Sahiwal’s Inspector Wazir Ahmad and retired Assistant Muhammad Anwar were allocated 100,000 rupees each for heart treatment. Lahore Police Driver Constable Muhammad Riaz also received 100,000 rupees for kidney treatment. The remaining funds have been earmarked for other police employees and their families facing various health issues.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar emphasized that new projects are underway to continue enhancing the welfare of police employees. He also stated that the scope of health support provided to the police force would be further expanded to cover more individuals in need.
