IG Punjab Allocates Increased Funds for Health Welfare of Police Personnel

LAHORE, The commitment to enhance the health welfare of the police force and their families continues, as Inspector General Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, sanctions the release of additional funds to address their medical needs.

According to the Punjab Police, an amount exceeding 13 lakh 42 thousand rupees has been allocated for the medical treatments of police employees from various districts, including Lahore, and their families. Among the recipients, Constable Muhammad Awais of Lahore Police received 03 lakh 53 thousand 03 hundred and 50 rupees for leg treatment, while Constable Muhammad Asim was granted 05 lakh rupees for his daughter’s cancer treatment. Additional monetary aids were distributed for various other treatments, including the spouse of a fallen officer. The funding cases, as presented by Additional IG Finance and Welfare, Muhammad Riaz Nazir Gara, received approval from IG Punjab for immediate fund disbursement. Dr. Usman Anwar stressed the importance of using police welfare resources specifically for medical treatments of the police staff and their families. He further encouraged Regional Police Officers (RPOs) and DPOs to curate and forward cases from their respective departments to the Central Police Office, ensuring maximum welfare benefits to the force.
