Lahore: Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, has announced the allocation of substantial funds to support the healthcare needs of police employees and their families. The initiative aims to provide financial aid for the treatment of serious illnesses affecting the personnel, reaffirming the commitment to their health welfare.
According to Punjab Police, Constable Mukhtar Ahmad from Lahore Police has been allocated PKR 1 million for kidney treatment. Additionally, ASI Sajjad Ahmad and ASI Javed Iqbal Khan received PKR 250,000 each for the treatment of their wives’ medical conditions, including a brain hemorrhage. Constable Tariq Rasheed’s wife will receive PKR 200,000 for liver treatment, while Saleem Masih and others have been granted smaller amounts for various medical expenses.
Dr. Usman Anwar emphasized that the welfare of police employees facing health challenges is a priority. The funds were approved following scrutiny by the Medical Financial Assistance Committee, ensuring that police welfare funds and other resources are used optimally to support those in need.
