Lahore: Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, has reinforced his commitment to the health and welfare of police personnel injured in the line of duty by approving an additional 2.65 million rupees to cover medical expenses. This financial support targets officers from various districts, including Lahore, ensuring they receive the necessary treatment for their injuries.
According to a statement by Punjab Police, the funds have been distributed among several injured officers. Head Constable Ateeq Ahmad received 1 million rupees, while Constables Naeem Maqbool and Aamir Shahzad were each allocated 500,000 rupees. Head Constable Ali Ahmed was granted 250,000 rupees, and Constables Ahmad Khan and Sibghat Ullah each received 200,000 rupees.
The injuries occurred during different incidents while on duty, highlighting the risks faced by law enforcement personnel. The Compensation Award Committee, led by Additional IG Welfare Imran Irshad, approved the fund disbursement.
Dr. Usman Anwar emphasized that providing the best possible treatment and facilitating the swift recovery of these officers remains a top priority. He urged supervisory officers to exhaust all efforts to ensure the health and well-being of the injured personnel, underscoring the department’s dedication to its officers’ welfare.
