IG Punjab Addresses Citizen and Police Concerns at Open Court Session**

Lahore, In a proactive move to address issues faced by the community and the police, Inspector General Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, conducted an open court session at the Central Police Office. During this session, the IG Punjab took immediate actions on concerns raised by both citizens and police employees.

According to a news release by the Punjab Police, Dr. Usman Anwar, after hearing the grievances, promptly issued directives and provided resolutions to the affected parties. Additionally, the Inspector General demanded reports from relevant supervisory officers pertaining to citizens’ applications. He emphasized that the Punjab Police will not tolerate inadequate investigations or any unwarranted treatment of citizens. In line with this, officers and officials found in breach of standard operating procedures were warned to anticipate departmental consequences.

Furthermore, during this open session, police employees presented their requests concerning discipline, administrative matters, and welfare-related issues to Dr. Usman Anwar. Recognizing the link between police welfare and enhanced performance, the IG Punjab asserted that improving the conditions for police employees would subsequently raise the bar for their performance.

In a move to ensure continuous engagement and accessibility for the public, Dr. Usman Anwar highlighted the 1787 Complaint Center, which operates seven days a week. He informed attendees that citizens can communicate any police-related complaints to this center through calls, SMS, or traditional mail.
