Islamabad: In response to the need for heightened vigilance, Inspector General of Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi conducted a detailed review of the capital’s security measures. The review occurred during a late-night meeting at the Central Police Office, attended by senior police officials.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, IGP Rizvi, alongside DIGs, SSPs, and Zonal SPs, assessed the current security strategies in Islamabad, issuing directives aimed at bolstering law and order. Emphasis was placed on ensuring that all officers are prepared to address any potential disturbances effectively and in accordance with legal standards. The IGP mandated increased patrolling, thorough briefings for on-ground police staff, and direct oversight by senior officers to ensure rigorous adherence to these new protocols.
Furthermore, in anticipation of Muharram-ul-Haram, the IGP ordered a comprehensive review of security arrangements for processions and religious gatherings. Officers are tasked with personally inspecting routes and coordinating closely with local religious leaders to safeguard participants. The overarching goal, as reiterated by IGP Rizvi, is to maintain a peaceful and secure environment throughout the holy month, reflecting the police’s commitment to the safety and tranquility of Islamabad.
