ISLAMABAD: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi met with Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Motorway Police Imran Shahid to discuss improving traffic management and security. During the meeting, a joint strategy was agreed upon to enhance traffic flow on inter-district and inter-provincial highways, reduce accidents, and ensure a safe travel environment for citizens.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the meeting emphasized the integration of modern technology, improvement of information-sharing systems, and prompt responses to emergencies. Following this, IG Islamabad convened with Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Islamabad Muhammad Sarfraz Virk to review and enhance the traffic system and citizen services at licensing offices and service centers.
IG Islamabad instructed the CTO to implement modern traffic management systems, ensure effective planning for smooth traffic flow, and streamline the licensing process. The importance of public awareness campaigns and strict enforcement against violations was highlighted. Public service delivery was declared a top priority, with directives for efficient resource use, staff deployment, and provision of modern facilities for citizen convenience.
In a separate meeting with Director ITP FM 92.4 Aisha Jamil, IG Islamabad assessed the performance of ITP FM and called for accelerated awareness seminars in educational institutions. The FM radio platform is to be used effectively for traffic awareness and public guidance, promoting road safety, and enhancing the police’s positive image. Structured programs in schools are to raise awareness among students about traffic laws and safe driving.
IG Islamabad reaffirmed his commitment to improving the traffic system and public services in the capital through modern and citizen-friendly policing.
