IFJHRJK condemns killing of woman by army vehicle in IIOJK

Srinagar, July 16, 2021 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the International Forum for Justice and Human Rights Jammu and Kashmir (IFJHRJK) has strongly condemned the killing of a woman in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district by an army vehicle.

The IFJHRJK Chairman, Muhammad Ahsan Untoo in a statement issued in Srinagar said that it was not the first time that army vehicle had killed an innocent Kashmiri but there were scores of such incidents in the territory where Indian army had overrun people and killed them without any accountability.

He said, the complete impunity to the army has emboldened them and they keep on repeating such crimes. He added that whenever the locals had protested against such incidents, the army had showered them with bullets.

Untoo recalled that in September an 8-year old girl was hit by an army vehicle in Kupwara and she sustained critical head injuries. He said, the Indian armed forces need to be held accountable for such crimes and they be brought to justice.

He urged the Criminal Court of Justice, European Union and international human rights bodies to take notice of the killings and force the Indian government to punish all those army and paramilitary forces, involved in the heinous crimes.
