Srinagar, November 13, 2021 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the International Forum for Justice Human Rights JK (IFJHRJK) has castigated the Indian government for slapping draconian laws on Kashmiri students, civil society members and businessmen.
A research report issued by the IFJHRJK Chairman, Muhammad Ahsan Untoo said that the Indian government had invoked the draconian laws like Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and Public Safety Act (PSA) against the Kashmiri businessman and General Secretary of Kashmir Traders Federation, Sajjad Ahmad, lawyers, students, women and even sons of martyrs.
Ahsan Untoo said that Sajjad Ahmad was called by Senior Superintendent of Police at Kothi Bagh Police Station in Srinagar and was booked under the PSA. He said, another person, Umar Ahmad, was in Delhi for the treatment of his father, who is suffering from a kidney disease. As Umar reached home along with his father he was summoned by Khanyar police station and was booked under PSA and shifted to a jail in Haryana.
Untoo said, this month India’s infamous National Investigation Agency (NIA) has booked 38 people under the draconian laws, UAPA and PSA, on the directives of RSS and BJP. The international community takes note of human rights abuses elsewhere in the world but never bothers about Kashmir, he deplored.
Untoo urged the world community to take cognizance of the human rights abuses by India in IIOJK and stand in support of the Kashmiri people. The conscious citizens of the world should also impress upon their governments to put pressure on New Delhi to allow the people of Jammu and Kashmir exercise their democratic rights, particularly the right to self-determination, he added.
