IED Blast in Chhattisgarh Kills Two Indian Police Personnel

Raipur: In a tragic incident in Chhattisgarh, two Indian police officers were killed and four others critically injured by an improvised explosive device (IED) blast. The explosion occurred near the Mandimarka-Tarrem police station in the Bijapur district, a region frequently disturbed by conflicts.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the deceased were identified as Bharat Lal Sahu, a Chief Constable of the State Task Force, and Constable Sater Singh. The injured officers, Purushottam Nag, Komal Yadav, Siyaram Sori, and Sanjay Kumar, were part of a team returning from an anti-Naxal operation when their convoy was struck by the blast. This latest attack underscores the ongoing security challenges in the region, which has seen similar violent incidents in the past, including an IED explosion last month that killed two personnel from the Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA) in the Sukma district.
