Islamabad: ICT export remittances in Pakistan have surged by 34.9%, reaching $1.206 billion during the first four months of the fiscal year 2024-25, from July to October, as stated by Minister of State for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja.
According to Press Information Department, the minister highlighted that ICT exports amounted to $894 million during the same period in the previous fiscal year, 2023-24. In October 2024 alone, remittances from ICT services exports reached $330 million, marking a 38.6% increase from the $238 million reported in October 2023. The Minister of State further explained that, following directives from the Prime Minister of Pakistan, various strategic measures are being implemented to boost IT exports. She emphasized that with the backing of the Special Investment Facilitation Council, the Ministry of IT, Pakistan Software Export Board, and the IT industry are dedicated to advancing the country’s IT export sector.
