Baltimore, At the 49th National ICNA-MAS Convention held in Baltimore, the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) showcased its expansive reach and impact on humanitarian efforts globally, particularly in support of distressed communities and interfaith harmony. The convention, which drew participants from across the United States and beyond, emphasized solidarity with Palestine and praised South Africa’s advocacy efforts.
According to Press Information Department, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Masood Khan, delivered a keynote address at the event, praising ICNA’s role in fostering unity among Muslim communities and its efforts in education and humanitarian outreach. Ambassador Khan highlighted ICNA’s significant impact, noting that the organization had positively affected 12 million people through various initiatives. Dr. Mohsin Ansari, President of ICNA, detailed the organization’s activities, including transitional housing for women, educational programs, and disaster relief efforts.
The convention also honored South Africa’s proactive stance on Palestine, with Mr. Ismail Esau, Charge d’Affaires at the South African Embassy in Washington, accepting an award for the country’s efforts. Ambassador Khan reiterated calls for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza and urged the United States to lead in realizing a two-state solution, underscoring the global responsibility towards peace and justice.
