IAF officer injured in attack at Pathankot military base

Pathankot, July 17, 2023 (PPI-OT): A canteen worker attacked and critically injured an Indian Air Force (IAF) official in Punjab state in India.

The officer, squadron leader, at the IAF base in Punjab’s military base in Pathankot, was hit with a sharp object by the accused and sustained grave injuries to her head. The officer was referred to Chandigarh for treatment. Police sprang into action after the incident, and the accused mess worker was arrested. Officials accessed CCTV footage to track him.

Giving information about the incident, DCP Lakhwinder Singh said, “We received information that an IAF official had been attacked and was found injured. Probe revealed that a mess worker was behind the attack. We have arrested him and a further investigation is underway.”
