Hurriyat leader Muhammad Hanif Kalis from Jammu region passed away

Srinagar, All Parties Hurriyat Conference leader from Jammu region and Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Pir Panjal Peace Foundation, Muhammad Hanif Kalis, passed away in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He was 62.

According to Kashmir Media Service, a large number of people including Hurriyat leaders and activists participated in the funeral prayers of the deceased. He was laid to rest in his ancestral graveyard.

Muhammad Hanif Kalis was born in Gunthal area of Sarnakot Tehsil of Poonch district. The urge for freedom from India’s illegal occupation began to take hold in his heart during his school day. After completing his education, he got the government job as a school teacher. However, he was dismissed from the service by the occupation authorities for playing an active role in the Kashmir freedom movement.

Meanwhile, the APHC-AJK chapter Convener, Mahmood Ahmad Saghar and other Hurriyat leaders including Chaudhry Shaheen Iqbal, Hakeem Abdul Rasheed, Ghulam Nabi War, Muhammad Aaqib, Asrar Ahmad, Advocate Muzamal, Shabbir Ahmed, Qazi Imran and Khalid Shabbir expressed profound grief and sorrow over the death of Muhammad Hanif Kalis. They prayed Allah Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and give patience to the bereaved family to bear this loss with patience.
