Hurriyat Delegation Meets Sindh CM to Observe October 27 as Black Day

Karachi: In a significant political engagement, a delegation of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) Azad Kashmir branch met with Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah to confirm plans to commemorate October 27 as a Black Day.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the delegation, led by Hurriyat convener Ghulam Mohammad Safi, expressed gratitude to the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) for its consistent support to the Kashmiri cause. The discussions focused on further solidifying national solidarity with the Kashmiri population under duress. Safi highlighted the importance of calling an All Parties Conference on the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) to enhance support for Kashmir’s self-determination on global forums.

Chief Minister Shah assured the delegation of Sindh’s unwavering support, emphasizing the historical ties and ongoing commitment of the PPP and the Sindh government to the Kashmiri movement. He reiterated the significance of October 27 in Kashmir’s history, promising that the day would be marked with substantial observance to demonstrate solidarity.

Sindh’s Chief Minister also referenced the foundational principles of the PPP, underscoring that the resolution of the Kashmir dispute remains a core element of the party’s doctrine. He further mentioned the efforts of the late Benazir Bhutto in raising the issue internationally, including the inclusion of the Hurriyat Conference as an observer group in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

The meeting underscores the provincial and national backing for Kashmir’s cause within Pakistan, reflecting a unified approach towards advocating for the rights of the Kashmiri people against Indian governance challenges.
