Srinagar, In a poignant appeal, All Parties Hurriyat Conference leader Abdul Samad Inqilabi has voiced grave concerns regarding the welfare of Kashmiri political detainees held in Indian jails. With Eid-ul-Adha approaching, he has called for their immediate release to allow them to spend the festival with their families.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Inqilabi’s statement issued in Srinagar highlighted the harsh conditions faced by notable detainees such as APHC Chairman Masarat Alam Butt, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, and others, who are incarcerated under the stringent Public Safety Act (PSA). He criticized the Indian authorities for treating the Kashmiri detainees as criminals and depriving them of basic necessities, a clear violation of their human rights.
Inqilabi urged international human rights organizations to intervene and secure the release of these individuals, emphasizing the urgent need for their freedom in the spirit of the upcoming religious holiday.
