Srinagar, The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has voiced concerns over what it describes as severe human rights violations in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). The organization, representing various parties in the region, has called for global support and intervention in the wake of what it claims are escalating atrocities committed by Indian troops in the territory.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the APHC spokesman, in a statement issued in Srinagar, asserted that over a million Indian troops in IIOJK are responsible for ongoing human rights abuses. The statement claimed that these violations have intensified since the Indian government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, revoked the special status of the region on August 5, 2019. The APHC described the situation in Kashmir as both a political and humanitarian dispute, urging people worldwide who value human dignity to support the Kashmiri struggle for self-determination.
The APHC spokesperson condemned the silence of the international community on the Kashmir issue, stating that it compounds the suffering of the Kashmiri people. The organization emphasized the need for global voices to speak out against the injustices in Kashmir and called upon the international community to hold India accountable for its actions in the occupied territory.
