Huddle on Kashmir in British parliament highlights plight of Kashmiri women – Press Release issued by Kashmir Media Service

London, March 08, 2023 (PPI-OT): A conference on “International Women’s Day and rights violations in occupied Jammu and Kashmir” was held in the British House of Commons, London, in which former Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Raja Muhammad Farooq Haidar was the chief guest. The conference was hosted by Raja Najabat Hussain, Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Movement for Self-Determination International.

 

Raja Muhammad Farooq Haidar Khan while speaking on the occasion said that the role of overseas Kashmiris in promoting the freedom movement of Kashmir at the global level is of fundamental importance. He said that today the International Women’s Day is being celebrated all over the world, while women in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir are facing atrocities and serious violations of human rights.

 

Raja Farooq Haidar Khan urged the Kashmiris abroad to work for the cause of Kashmir above all political, regional and other affiliations. Raja Najabat Hussain said that Kashmiris have been suffering Indian atrocities for more than 75 years and today, when the International Women’s Day is being celebrated, the human rights atrocities on Kashmiri women are continuing unabated in occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He stressed the British government’s role in preventing Indian atrocities on women in Jammu and Kashmir and the release of detained women.
