Hub: Deputy Commissioner Ruhana Gul Kakar chaired a critical meeting to finalize the Disaster Action Plan for the upcoming monsoon season in Hub. The session focused on emergency preparations and flood mitigation strategies to safeguard the district against potential seasonal challenges.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, key participants in the meeting included Assistant Commissioners Muhammad Ali Durrani and Amir Hamza Balu, Tehsildar Maqbool Sasoli, District Health Officer Dr. Noor Ahmed Bizenjo, and representatives from various local and utility departments. The assembly reviewed monsoon preparedness and discussed detailed responses to any emergent flood situations.
Significant measures outlined during the meeting included the cleaning of major and minor drainage channels throughout Hubshahr and its surrounding areas. The Municipal Corporation Hub City is tasked with drain maintenance, while additional resources will be mobilized from other organizations to assist in areas like Leda and Gadani Town. Deputy Commissioner Kakar emphasized the importance of maintaining readiness with heavy machinery and other necessary equipment to manage potential flooding effectively.
Furthermore, the District Health Office is set to establish health camps in low-lying and vulnerable areas to address any medical emergencies during the rains. Deputy Commissioner Kakar also instructed district heads to utilize their expertise and resources proactively to keep the public informed and prepared for any sudden flood-related emergencies.
