Huawei and Pakistan Forge Ahead on Digitalization Initiatives


Islamabad, A prominent delegation from Huawei Pakistan, led by CEO Mr. Ethan Sun, engaged in fruitful discussions with Minister of State for IT and Telecommunication, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, focusing on the acceleration of digital transformation in Pakistan. The meeting emphasized collaborative efforts to integrate advanced ICT infrastructure and leverage digital technologies for economic growth and societal advancement.



According to Press Information Department, the dialogue centered around various programs and initiatives that align with the Ministry’s ambition to digitize Pakistan’s economy, enhance public services, and foster opportunities for the youth through technological empowerment. Minister Khawaja articulated her ministry’s commitment to utilizing digital platforms to catalyze socioeconomic development across the nation.



Mr. Sun reiterated Huawei’s dedication to supporting Pakistan’s digital journey, highlighting the company’s role in cultivating an intelligent, interconnected ecosystem. He introduced a Super App developed by Huawei, designed to streamline access to government services, healthcare, and education, potentially transforming urban centers into smart cities.



Key officials, including Mr. Jahanzeb Rahim, Member Telecom, and representatives from the National Information Technology Board and Huawei’s various departments, contributed to the discussions, emphasizing the shared goal of propelling Pakistan toward a digitally empowered future.



The meeting underscores a significant step in fostering public-private partnerships to harness technology for national development, reflecting a joint commitment to driving digital innovation and connectivity across Pakistan.
