Islamabad: In a session of the National Assembly today, Minister for Housing and Works Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada pledged to expedite the long-delayed Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) projects. This assurance came in response to a Calling Attention Notice raised by Shagufta Jumani and others, addressing the slow progress of these housing initiatives.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Pirzada expressed regret over the delays in project execution due to various factors and committed to ensuring fair market compensation for landowners affected by these developments. The session also saw the passage of two significant pieces of legislation: The Elections Amendment Bill, 2024, and the Peaceful Assembly and Public Order Bill, 2024.
The National Assembly session began with a moment of reflection, offering fateha for the individuals who sacrificed their lives for the nation’s defense and security. The House has adjourned and will reconvene on Monday at five pm.
