Homage paid to Mirwaiz Yousuf Shah

Srinagar, April 19, 2022 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, a special prayer meeting was organised by Jammu and Kashmir Awami Action Committee (AAC) at Jamia Masjid Srinagar on the occasion of 55th death anniversary of great political and religious leader, Muhajir-e-Millat and Mufassir-e-Qur’an, Mirwaiz Moulana Muhammad Yousuf Shah (RA).

According to Kashmir Media Service, a large number of people participated in the grand Qur’an Khawani and the special prayer meeting for the elevation of ranks of late Muffasir-e-Quran as well as Shaheed-e-Millat Mirwaiz Molvi Muhammad Farooq and all other Kashmiri martyrs.

On the occasion, the people expressed strong resentment against the continued house detention of the head of the organisation Mirwaiz Umar Farooq since 5 August 2019. They deplored that as per the tradition, a memorial meeting for Mirwaiz Yousuf Shah (RA) used to be held at the historic Aali Masjid, Eidgah in Srinagar on 17th Ramadan-ul-Mubarak, could not be held due to the house detention of the Mirwaiz.

The people reiterated their demand for the unconditional release of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in view of the last Friday of the month of Ramadan – Jumma-tul-Wida – and Shab-e-Qadr so that he could fulfill his religious responsibilities.

Meanwhile, senior APHC leader, Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi, in a statement issued in Srinagar eulogized the services and contribution of Maulana Yousuf Shah (RA) for the Kashmir cause and the betterment of the Kashmiri society. He also paid homage to the martyrs of Battle of Badr (Ghazwa-e-Badr). APHC-AJK leader Mehmood Ahmad Saghar in a statement in Islamabad also paid tributes to Mirwaiz Yousuf Shah (RA).
