Lahore, 12 Oct 2023:Punjab Police have inked Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with all major government hospitals in Lahore to provide free and top-tier medical facilities to the families of police martyrs. The MOUs, signed by Inspector General Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, ensure free medical facilities for parents, wives, and children of the martyrs, marking a pivotal initiative for the health welfare of the families of numerous Punjab Police martyrs. The signing ceremony, held at the Central Police Office, was attended by senior doctors and officials from prominent hospitals like Mayo Hospital, General Hospital, and Services Hospital, amongst others.

IG Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, expressed gratitude to the senior doctors from all the participating hospitals for their support in this welfare initiative, as each vowed to contribute to the welfare of the families of those who sacrificed their lives in duty. The approach includes the development of an effective system for the convenience of the martyr’s families in government hospitals through police khidmat counters in all hospitals. Further, this welfare measure anticipates reaching out at the district level, with possible agreements with district headquarters hospitals for locally accessible, free treatment facilities.
