Mumbai, Communal tensions flared in Maharashtra after Hindutva slogans were discovered scribed on the walls of a mosque, leading to protests from the Muslim community. The provocative graffiti has sparked significant unrest, highlighting growing religious tensions in the state.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the contentious incident occurred at the Markazi Masjid mosque located in Majalgaon, where unidentified individuals wrote Hindu nationalist slogans, including “Shri Ram,” on the mosque’s exterior. The Muslim community’s response was swift, with many gathering outside the mosque to protest against what they perceive as a targeted anti-Muslim action.
Maharashtra’s Beed district police have officially launched an investigation into the incident, with Sub-divisional Police Officer Dheeraj Kumar confirming the nature of the slogans and the initiation of a case against the unidentified culprits.
This incident has heightened concerns over communal harmony in Maharashtra, drawing attention to the need for increased efforts to maintain peace and understanding between different religious communities within the state.
