Hindutva Regime’s Policies Intensify Sufferings in Kashmir, Says Report

Islamabad, The Research Section of Kashmir Media Service has released a report detailing the increased hardships faced by the people in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) due to the policies of the Hindutva BJP-RSS regime. The report highlights the escalation of atrocities, political injustices, and mental disturbances since the revocation of the territory’s special status on August 5, 2019.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the analytical report paints a grim picture of life in IIOJK under the strict military and police siege imposed by the Indian government. It states that Indian troops have martyred 857 Kashmiris and injured 2,413 during this period, pushing the residents to the brink and significantly hampering their daily lives.

The report accuses the Indian forces of routine brutalities against the oppressed and defenseless people of Jammu and Kashmir, including regular nocturnal house raids, cordon, and search operations aimed at crushing the Kashmiris’ struggle for their right to self-determination. Additionally, it notes the confiscation of properties, including homes and lands, by Indian agencies under false pretenses during violent operations.

Highlighting the plight of journalists in one of the world’s most dangerous countries for the press, the report criticizes the Narendra Modi-led government’s harassment of media personnel not aligned with its narrative. It alleges that the BJP regime in IIOJK and across India is attacking minorities and stifling free press to obscure its transgressions against religious minorities.

The report calls on the United Nations and the international community to end their indifference towards the continuous suffering of the Kashmiri people and to support their legitimate struggle for self-determination. It urges global accountability for the Hindutva BJP government’s alleged crimes against humanity in IIOJK, emphasizing the need for international intervention to address the ongoing crisis.
