Hindutva outfit calls for boycott of halal meat during Diwali in Karnataka

Bengaluru, October 18, 2022 (PPI-OT):In its bid to harm the Muslims economically, a Hindutva organization has once again launched its campaign in the Indian state of Karnataka for boycott of Halal meet during the Hindu festival Diwali. The Hindutva outfit, Hindu Janajagruthi Vedike, in its campaign is urging the Hindus to boycott products and companies, such as McDonalds and Pizza Hut that use meat certified to have been prepared as per Islamic law. Hindu Jana Jagruthi Committee held an anti-halal convention on Sunday (October 16) and released a booklet titled “Halal Jihad” as part of the campaign.

A spokesperson for the outfit, Ramesh Shinde said, we have called upon the entire Hindu community to observe a halal-mukt Diwali. Therefore, he said, any product that has a halal sign should be boycotted. “Any manufacturer who has halal certification should be boycotted. McDonalds and other international firms which serve halal food should be boycotted,” he added. Hindu Janajagruthi Vedike had launched a similar campaign in March during the Hindu festival Ugaadi and the same was endorsed by some BJP leaders. Even non-Hindus were barred from setting up stalls near temples.
