Hindutva mob thrashes 3 Muslims in Bihar leaving 1 dead, 2 injured 

Patna, February 25, 2023 (PPI-OT):Three Muslim men were assaulted in Diha village near Gaya city in the Indian state of Bihar over the allegation of theft, leaving one dead and two others critically injured. The Muslim men Mohammed Babar, 28, Ruknuddin Alam, 32, and Mohammad Sajid, 28, were critically injured when they were thrashed by the Hindutva mob. They were shifted to Gaya’s Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College, where Mohammed Babar was proclaimed dead. Ruknuddin Alam and Mohammad Sajid have now been transferred to PMCH (Patna Medical College and Hospital) in Patna.

The families state that the three worked in a Kolkata factory and went to Diha hamlet to recruit labourers. The incident, according to the families, occurred outside the village where the victims had stepped out of their vehicle to relieve themselves. The family members have described it as a “targeted killing”. The victims hailed from Kurisarai village, which is around six kilometres from Diha. The police have constituted a special investigation team (SIT) to probe the murder in the case of mob lynching in Bihar.
