Hindutva leader says Muslims should not be allowed to reach higher govt positions in India

Bhopal, May 13, 2023 (PPI-OT): The Chief of Hindutva organization Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) Pravin Togadia, known for making anti-Muslim statements, has said that Muslims should not be allowed to reach higher Government positions and only Hindus should hold positions of power.

Parveen Togadia at an event in Narmadapuram city of Madhya Pradesh state said, “Only individuals belonging to the Hindu faith will be permitted to occupy positions of authority in the nation, including the Prime Minister, Chief Minister, Ministers, District Officers, Superintendents of Police (SP), and District Magistrates (DM).”

He stated his intention to restrict the growth of the Muslim population in India. He proposed enacting a law that limits the number of children born to Muslims to two. He also suggested denying government jobs, access to government-subsidized food, enrollment in government schools, free healthcare services, and bank loans to practicing Muslims.

“Muslims who have more than two children will be deprived of government facilities, including access to loans from banks,” he said. Parveen Togadia stated, “Even in the face of these limitations, if Muslims continue to have more children, they will be imprisoned for a period of 10 years.”
