Islamabad, December 30, 2021 (PPI-OT):Right-wing Hindu forces have intensified their violent attacks against Christians in India, creating a sense of fear among the members of the minority community. A report released by Kashmir Media Service, today, said over 300 attacks have been reported on Christians in India in 2021 and at least 42 attacks on Christians and their worship places have been recorded this year in BJP ruled Karnataka alone.
The report said that fearing death in Modi’s India, Christians have begun to identify themselves as Hindus. “Atmosphere of fear prevails in Christian community across India. Persecution of Christians in India has increased significantly in last 5 years. There is a systematic targeting of Christians through a vicious hate campaign. Those carrying out hate campaign against Christians enjoy political and police protection,” it said.
The report pointed out that Hindu extremists are damaging places of worship of the Christian community and forcing the Christians to convert to Hinduism. It said the Christians are forced to hold secret religious gatherings due to fear of Hindutva mobs.
The report maintained that recently, Modi government restricted foreign funding for Mother Teresa’s charity. It said the BJP leaders are openly calling for an India free of veil-wearing Muslims and Christian priests. It added that fascist Modi wants to make India a Hindu Rashtra.
