New Delhi: In a troubling incident aimed at inciting communal discord, a Hindu youth from Bihar was arrested for impersonating a Muslim and issuing a fake bomb threat targeting the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Ayush Kumar Jaiswal, 18, allegedly created a fraudulent Instagram account using the name ‘Nasir Pathan’ to post a threat claiming a bombing would cause mass casualties at the religious event.
The threatening message stated, “All of you will be killed, In Sha Allah,” and included Jaiswal’s hometown address, daring authorities to respond. Police were able to trace the threat back to Jaiswal by tracking his IP address, leading to his capture in Bihar after he initially fled to Nepal.
The incident drew strong condemnation from Congress leaders, who labeled it an intentional effort to incite hostility against the Muslim community. Rajya Sabha MP Imran Pratapgarhi categorized the act as part of a larger scheme to propagate hatred, while Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate warned of the perilous outcomes of disseminating such divisive rhetoric.
